My Thoughts So Far

One interest I have is animals. Ever since I could remember there has always been an animal in my life. My whole family has had animals, starting with dogs and cats to cattle and goats. When teachers in middle school would ask the class "what do you want to be when you grow up?" kids would say a "mommy" or "teacher" etc. but I would say a veterinarian. Instead of the usual "MTV" or other popular shows on TV, I'll catch myself watching animal planet. I like watching the veterinarians and veterinarian technicians help the animals even though its not a pretty sight.

I see the abuse some animals go through, and I want to fight against that. During my last years of high school I really became interested in animal rights. I did a research paper for a class and discovered how many people fight for animal rights. I even go online at times to sign petitions to help animals. I hope that becoming a veterinarian or vet. tech., I will help contribute more towards the fights for animal rights. I am even trying to stop eating meat. Even though it can be difficult at times, especially around my grandma's homemade Mexican dishes.
Everyone has a favorite subject in school, and mine would be English because I love to read. I love when you get so involved in the story that you can imagine yourself in it. In eighth grade I discovered my favorite author and book, "Pride & Prejudice" by Jane Austen. I became so entice with Austen that I had to read more of her books. I am almost done reading them all.
My top careers I chose were veterinarian and veterinarian technician. These careers reflect on me because I would work with animals . I want to bring awareness to people on pet adoption. I adopted my first pet and it really does change your thoughts. I realized that I saved a life. These careers reflect on me because I want to do more to help animals. It makes me feel good to help animals. With this information from the career assessment I plan to act upon my career. It will help me choose the right paths to reach my goals. This information will affect what I do in the future. It will help me make a decision to which career I do pick, a veterinarian or a veterinarian technician.
